Apologies to the many Stars and Stripes fans who were hoping U.S. women's soccer star Alex Morgan is still single. Not that fans ever had a chance of kicking it off with the famed striker, but she married her college sweetheart in 2014.
Alex Morgan, known to some for looks, is best known for her goal-scoring abilities and clutch kicks as co-captain of the U.S. Women's National Team. The Olympic gold medalist is one of the faces of women's soccer in the United States alongside names like Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd.
But who is her soccer player husband and how did they meet?

Alex Morgan is married to Servando Carrasco. He's a Coronado, California-born professional soccer player with Fort Lauderdale CF (FLCF) in the USL League One (USLLO).
USLLO is a second-tier professional men's soccer league. FLCF is a feeder team for a Major League Soccer expansion team, the David Beckham-owned Inter Miami CF. Carrasco spent his childhood in Tijuana, Mexico, but played club soccer for San Diego Soccer Club. After winning several player of the year awards, Carrasco scored a scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley.
Carrasco made an All-Pac 10 team with the Golden Bears and was named senior co-captain. He graduated after the 2010 season with 13 goals scored over his college career. The lucky 13 is also Morgan's jersey number.
Carrasco began his professional soccer career during the 2011 MLS SuperDraft. He played for the Seattle Sounders for three seasons before being traded to the Houston Dynamo. From Houston, Carrasco jumped from Sporting Kansas City to Orlando City to the LA Galaxy to the Fort Lauderdale Club de Futbol.
Carrasco played in USL League One in 2020 but is no longer on the Fort Lauderdale roster in 2021. It seems likely that, with Morgan preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Carrasco has gone full dad mode. These speculations are unconfirmed, just like Carrasco's status on a professional soccer roster.
Soccer player Servando Carrasco might stay in Florida with his baby girl when Alex Morgan tries for her second gold medal in the pandemic-delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Her growing family is a sign of the times—this could be the 32-year-old Morgan's last Olympics as a player. For Carrasco and Team USA fans everywhere, we hope Morgan goes out with more spectacular goals and a second Olympic gold medal.
How did the two-time World Cup winner end up with a Major League Soccer journeyman midfielder? Some might say it's written in the stars...and stripes.
How Did Alex Morgan Meet Her Husband?
Alex Morgan met her husband Servando Carrasco while they were attending UC Berkeley.
Their long-distance relationship is a testament to their sound foundation. After getting engaged in Manhattan Beach, they tied the knot in Santa Barbara, California. Juggling two professional soccer careers, they've hardly lived in the same city since.
When Carrasco was in Seattle, Morgan was in New York. Morgan did move to Seattle for a season, but Seattle traded Carrasco to Texas. The couple reunited in Orlando before Morgan's year in Europe. When she returned to Orlando, Carrasco moved to L.A. Today, Morgan is in Orlando and Carrasco in Fort Lauderdale.
Their first child, Charlie Elena Carrasco, was born during Supermoon 2020, as announced by Morgan's social media.
"She made us wait longer than expected, but I should have known she would do it her way and her way only. My super moon baby," she wrote on Instagram.
Referring to the USWNT star as Morgan is technically incorrect. She now goes by Alex Morgan Carrasco, but not in the public eye. To her adoring U.S. Women's National Team fans, she will always be the one and only Alex Morgan.
Alex Morgan Soccer Career
Alexandra Patricia Morgan Carrasco is a U.S. Women's National Team living legend.
She's won two FIFA Women's World Cups, a closet-full of golden boots and several ESPYs. She's a former U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year, CONCACAF Player of the Year, Best FIFA Women's Player of the Year and FIFA World Player of the Year Finalist.
She's written a New York Times bestseller children's book called "The Kicks." She's sponsored by Nike, McDonald's and Coca-Cola but is surprisingly a vegan despite her Big Mac sponsors. Morgan has appeared on magazine and video game covers alike, from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition to "FIFA 2016."
Need we go on?
Born in the Los Angeles suburb of Diamond Bar, California, Morgan didn't play club soccer until she was 14. Her friends dubbed her "Baby Horse" because of her equine gallop. By the time she made the USWNT, Morgan was a full-blown stallion.
Morgan won the Coast Soccer League with her club, Cypress Elite, and was named All-American at Diamond Bar High School. A true Cali girl at heart, Morgan wanted to play for the California Golden Bears.
Morgan met her husband at UC Berkeley when both were playing college soccer. She led the Golden Bears to four NCAA tournaments in a row, though they never advanced beyond the second round.
Morgan's professional career started with a flash in the pan. The Western New York Flash drafted Morgan No. 1 overall in the 2011 Women's Professional Soccer (WPS). Morgan scored goals and helped lead the club to a WPS Championship title in her first season. Her first season turned out to be her last, as the WPS folded soon after.
Morgan's professional career has not been as stable as her USWNT career. She played for the Seattle Sounders women's soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. She then joined Portland Thorns FC when the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) replaced the WPS (which had replaced the Women's United Soccer Association, WUSA). Morgan has since played for the Orlando Pride, Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon) in France and Tottenham Hotspur in London.
Morgan is a NWSL Champion and Champions League Champion. She currently competes in the NWSL with the Orlando Pride but is hoping to make a dominant gold medal run in the Tokyo Olympics.
Fans aren't allowed at the olympics, but you can bet Alex Morgan's family will be cheering her on.
