That's not good.

Much like the football team, the eagle mascots used by Auburn during football games has also had a rough year.

The eagle opens home games for Auburn by flying down from the top of the stadium onto the field. While the bird is obviously well trained, the flight down can be a perilous one at times, and it was definitely that on Friday when the eagle crashed into a wall ahead of the Alabama 6A state championship game.

The mascot — believed to be the eage named "Nova" — did not appear to be injured in the crash. This isn't the first time this season the eagle has avoided disaster, as the mascot almost flew into a goal post earlier this year.
