Clemson reportedly made a move on another Power 5 assistant coach and came up short

Looks like one school is going to be happy about retaining him.

Usually when schools lose a key position coach like Clemson did with Dan Brooks' retirement, they will look to the lower ranks of schools for guys deserving of a promotion. In Clemson's case, they went for someone already in a Power 5 conference and someone who was familiar with the program.

The rest of McMurphy's tweet says that a source told ESPN that Rumph "wants to remain at Florida on (Coach) Jim McElwain's staff." That's got to be great to hear if you're a Florida fan as Rumph worked at Clemson from 2006 to 2010. He also worked with McElwain at Alabama on the 2011 BCS Chmapionship team.
