One Power 5 coach pretty much let a writer choose his spring game starting QB

There were plenty of upset fans in the Florida fanbase who were complaining about the quarterback situation. Neither Austin Appleby nor Luke Del Rio were particularly impressive or effective this past season, but the Gators still made it to Atlanta thanks to a dominant defense.

During his press conference to finish out National Signing Day, McElwain was asked who his starting quarterback might be in the spring and one writer suggested redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks. Coach Mac ran with it and had some fun with everyone there:
