Florida State hauled in one of the best recruiting classes this year and finished in the top five by most recruiting services' accounts. That included running back Johnny Taylor who did not make it to the class because he was killed in a car crash last June. Taylor grew up loving the Seminoles despite growing up just 30 minutes away from Gator dominated Gainesville.
He was a running back at North Marion High School in Citra, Fla. and what the Seminoles did for his family is possibly the most heart warming thing possible. After Florida State found out about Taylor and his death, the school presented his parents with a scholarship at his funeral, but that was not the end of it.
While Taylor was not physically there on National Signing Day at his school, he did get to sign with his teammates. There was a placard with his name on it and with the FSU logo on it so everyone knew that he will always be a part of Florida State University. What a classy move.
