Dan Hawkins was supposed to join the legendary Butch Davis at FIU as his offensive coordinator. However, it looks like he will renege on that offer to become his own boss.

Hawkins was previously head coach at Willamette, Colorado and Boise State compiling a record of 112-61-1 over five year at each university (15 total). He was also coach of the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes for five games before he was fired.
