USA Today's preseason rankings confuse everyone with this Top 4 pick

Well that's an odd pick.

It's a parade of preseason rankings ahead of the unofficial start of the college football season this week. This particular one from USA Today is set to garner a lot of attention thanks to one team they have in the Top 4: UCLA.

Their Top 10:

1. Alabama
2. Florida State
3. Ohio State
4. UCLA
5. Clemson
6. Oklahoma
7. LSU
8. Michigan
9. TCU
10. Notre Dame

The UCLA pick in intriguing to say the least. The 8-5 Bruins jump 31 spots from their end-of-season spot in last year's USA Today ranking, and that is a lot of faith to put into sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen. UCLA also has a difficult schedule to navigate, as they have road games against Texas A&M, BYU, and Washington State, and home games against No. 8 Stanford and No. 20 USC.

In addition to that, it is just weird to see Clemson that low with how well they did last season.

Among other oddities in this ranking: San Diego State at No. 14. That's just... random.
