Fans Clown Cam Newton After Travis Hunter Ignores Him Before Colorado, UCF Game

The Colorado Buffaloes are coming off a big overtime win against the Baylor Bears last weekend. But earlier this week, Coach Prime warned his squad against getting too comfortable. He even made them start an entire practice over. And Buffaloes star Travis Hunter has taken that message to heart.

Travis Hunter Gives Cold Shoulder to Cam Newton

Former NFL MVP Cam Newton was on the Buffaloes sideline for their matchup against UCF. And although the matchup was delayed Hunter remained in game mode. When Newton approached Hunter to acknowledge him, the Colorado star waved him off.

After being ignored by Hunter, fans clowned Newton on social media.

"Running his mouth too much. Shedeur said something to him too," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"You can't expect him to talk to [Cam] while he is dressed like that... that hat is f*****g absurd," another fan joked.

Richard Sherman Clarifies "Bland" Comments About Colorado Star

Travis Hunter's relationships with former NFL stars haven't been the best this past week. During an appearance on Detroit Lions receiver Amon Ra St. Brown's podcast, former star cornerback Richard Sherman referred to the Colorado star as a "bland" receiver.

"As a receiver, he's kinda bland," Sherman said. "I think he goes as a corner just because receivers his size... he's not a special size, super dynamic route runner. He's a great athlete and he's smooth so he can get it done. I'm sure if he focused on receiver he could be elite, but as a corner, he just looks natural."

Hunter later revealed that he was "hurt" by the comments. He also urged Sherman to "stop speaking" on him. But Sherman revealed that his words were misinterpreted as he was saying that Hunter would "blend" not calling him bland.

"And for the record. I said I thought Travis would blend. As in his size and speed metrics compared to the other WRs coming out," Sherman clarified.

"But as a CB his size/instincts/IQ would stand out much more.  I've been getting a lot of ppl saying "bland" so just thought I would clear that up."

Sherman also revealed that he apologized to Hunter on a phone call that was arranged by Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders.
