After Tuesday's 85-77 victory over the Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky's Angel Reese was emotional as a result of receiving the news that she was selected to the All-Star team in her rookie season.

"Well, we won today, but they just told me I'm an All-Star," Reese stated. "I mean, I'm just so happy. I know the work I put in. Coming into this league, so many people doubted me and didn't think my game would translate, and I wouldn't be the player I was in college... I wouldn't be where I am right now."

Reese continued, "But I trusted the process, I believed, and I'm thankful that I dropped to [draft pick No.] seven and was able to come to Chicago. It's just a blessing. I can't thank my teammates and my coaches enough for just believing in me and trusting me. I know all of them are going to come to Phoenix and support me, so I'm really happy right now."
Notably, during the game Reese scored 12 points and 19 rebounds, collecting her 11th consecutive double-double. That is to say, she already set the single-season WNBA record, when she recorded her 10th straight double-double last game.
So far on the season, Reese has averaged 13.2 points (39.7% FG), 11.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals.
To point out also, this is the first time since 2014 that two rookies were selected to the WNBA All-Star team; No.1 overall pick, Caitlin Clark will be teammates with Reese, as they take on Team USA together.

The Indiana Fever guard received 700,735 votes, while the Sky rookie had the fifth-most votes (381,518).
