According to 10TV.com, former Ohio State quarterback and 2006 Heisman winner Troy Smith was arrested on Sunday morning in Westerville, Ohio. Smith was pulled over for a license plate violation, and was then arrested for operating a motor vehicle while impaired (OVI) after blowing a 0.143 on a Breathalyzer.

In addition to the OVI, Smith was also cited for possession of marijuana and improper display of license plates. He was released later on Sunday morning and is expected back in court on Wednesday.

Smith is one of the best Ohio State players of all time, leading the Buckeyes to an appearance in the 2006 national title game after winning the Heisman Trophy. The Buckeyes lost that game however, falling to then-Florida head coach Urban Meyer and the Gators in a brutal 41-14 blowout.

His NFL career did not go as well, though, as Smith could never gain any traction in professional ball after being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2007. Smith has been out of the NFL since 2010.
