It looks like one of the top recruits from Michigan is heading down south.

On Friday, four-star linebacker DeAndre Square (6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Detroit, Mi.) announced that he’s committing to the University of Kentucky over home-state favorite Michigan State.

Square is another huge addition for Mark Stoops’ recruiting class for 2018. Square is the 12th addition to the class overall, which ranks fourth in the SEC per 247Sports.

Square opened up about his recruiting process and why he ultimately decided the Wildcats over the Spartans. Via Scout:

“I picked Kentucky because I love the coaches and how they believe in me.”

Square has played in both the safety role and linebacker role, but it looks as though he’ll play linebacker in college for Kentucky.
