Bedsole was a consensus All-American in 1962 and was the first USC receiver to record 200 receiving yards in a single game and was part of the undefeated national championship that season as well. He was inducted into the USC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012. He also went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings from 1964 to 1966.
