During the telecast for the Tennessee-Texas A&M game, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey joined Gary Danielson and Verne Lundquist to talk about what went into the decision to postpone the Florida-LSU game this weekend. Hurricane Matthew forced the game to be postponed, but there is currently no date for a makeup game. He also said that the conference is working to make up the game.

Sankey then went on to say explicitly that the game needs to be played and even described the ongoing debate as a point of tension in the SEC family and sometimes you just have to work through these things.

The game absolutely needs to get done because if the Vols were to lose a game and the Gators win out, that game could decide who represents the East in the SEC Championship game.
