Aaron Murray was one of the most prolific passers in the SEC when he played for Georgia starting in the 2010 season. He finished his distinguished career with over 13,000 passing yards, 121 touchdowns against 41 interceptions and a career 62.3 completion percentage.

He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and has spent time with the Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles as well. He was on the practice squad for the Eagles this past season, but was not signed to a future contract.

That means he is essentially a free agent and he’s already taken advantage of his status. He could end up on a Super Bowl contender for the 2017 season as he has gotten a tryout with the Carolina Panthers according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.

The Panthers currently have Derek Anderson and Joe Webb as backups, but both of their contracts run up after the 2017 season and we all know the last time Anderson got in the game for Newton. He immediately threw an interception and started the slide that would doom the Panthers against the Seattle Seahawks.
