Five-star DB Patrick Surtain Jr. has one team emerging as a favorite

Surtain is the No. 5 player in the nation.

The early signing period is now behind us, and that leaves cornerback and five-star recruit Patrick Surtain Jr. (6-foot-3, 193 pounds, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) as the top unsigned, uncommitted player in the country.

Surtain won't sign until the usual signing period in February, but he has one team that has already emerged as the massive favorite to land him in his recruitment. According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, LSU is the heavy favorite with 95-percent of their predictions going the way of the Tigers.

Florida State is the only other team to have a prediction in their favor as of press time. Other schools involved with Surtain's recruitment include Miami, Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State, but it's really been between LSU and Florida State for several months now.

Surtain is rated as a five-star and the No. 5 overall recruit in the country by the 247Sports Composite. He is the son of former three-time Pro Bowler Patrick Surtain.
