Punishment handed down to MLB mascot for giving one finger salute to fans

Not a good look at all.

The New York Mets are not having a great year, sitting on a 23-28 record and suffering through multiple injuries to many of their stars. It didn't get any better after a 7-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers as the mascot, Mr. Met, took it upon himself to give a rather rude salute to fans asking for a picture:

The man behind the mascot has been reprimanded according to a report from the Associated Press. The organization also sent out an email apologizing for the incident.

"We apologize for the inappropriate action of this employee. We do not condone this type of behavior. We are dealing with this matter internally."

There is more than one person who wears the mascot costume and the one involved with the flipping of the bird will no longer be allowed to wear it, as the AP reported as well.
