Aaron Rodgers fined $10K for play that led to egregious flop

Rodgers won't be happy about this one.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers suffered a brutal 44-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and Rodgers also lost nearly $10,000 after being fined by the NFL this week.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Rodgers was fined $9,115 for grabbing Falcons' defender Robert Alford's facemask and knocking his helmet off. Rodgers was penalized for the incident, and he said after the game he didn't think he deserved the penalty.

"I went for the stiff-arm, and I'm not a stiff-arm connoisseur," Rodgers said. "My thumb slipped through his facemask, his helmet was on loosely, and his helmet came off. I just told the ref, 'You know, he picked up the flag when they looked at the JumboTron when I scrambled and did kind of a weird in-between forward and front slide and the guy hit me in the head, and they picked up that penalty [flag],'" Rodgers said after the game. "So I just said, 'Why don't you look up at the JumboTron and pick up this penalty?' Because it obviously wasn't an excessive blow to the head there deserving of a 15-yard penalty, in my opinion."

After the play, Rodgers and Alford had a brief incident, which led to Alford's Oscar-worthy flop.

If Rodgers wasn't happy about the penalty, he certainly won't be happy about the fine. Especially after Alford's flop at the end of the play.
