The Dallas Cowboys have picked up some veteran quarterback insurance.
Luke McCown, entering his 14th year in the NFL, has signed a one-year contract with Dallas, his agent tweeted Friday night.
The Cowboys have starter Dak Prescott, backup Kellen Moore and undrafted rookie free agent Cooper Rush on their roster. The Cowboys were in the market for some more depth because QB Zac Dysert hurt his back.
In his career, the 36-year-old McCown has started 10 games and played for five different teams. He came into the league in 2004 as a fourth-round draft pick.
