A five-star 2017 Ohio State commit reportedly suffered a significant injury

A high-profile Ohio State commit is currently on the sidelines with an injury.

When we last heard from five-star Ohio State commit Tyjon Lindsey, the talented wide receiver was teaming up with fellow five-star prospect Trevon Grimes for a joint commitment announcement to land in Columbus for 2017 and beyond. Now, however, the news isn't as kind to Lindsey, as Lynden Ostrander of MaxPreps reports that he will miss approximately six weeks with a broken collarbone.

The 5-foot-9, 161-pound wide receiver from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas reportedly suffered the injury in a scrimmage and he was not in action when his team played on ESPN in the season opener against Cedar Hill (Texas). On the bright side, a broken collarbone isn't the type of injury that should affect Lindsey long-term as, provided he takes proper precautions, he should be able to return to full strength by the middle of his senior high school season.

It is never fun to see a top-tier prospect on the sidelines, especially during a nationally televised broadcast that could inspire some hype from the fan base. Still, Tyjon Lindsey should be back and, at least in theory, better than ever by the time he sets foot on campus to join Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes next season.
