Paige hasn’t wrestled since June and she underwent neck surgery in October. But that isn’t stopping the former WWE women’s champion from possibly pursuing a career in MMA:
Paige has begun physical therapy and PWInsider previously reported that she likely won’t be back until near August. But that hasn’t stopped her from rolling around on the mats with fiancé Alberto Del Rio:
She served two suspensions for WWE wellness violations within two months earlier in 2016, but clarified both situations noting she had prescriptions and doctor’s notes.
CM Punk was the latest former WWE star-turned-MMA fighter, and we all remember how smoothly that went:
Punk was the second fighter to make a transition from WWE to UFC, following in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar. Lesnar, of course, had a background in wrestling and was an amatuer champion before taking his talent to the WWE.
Punk had multiple setbacks before debuting in the UFC, including having back surgery back in February.
Paige was the first-ever NXT women’s champion, and won the women’s title twice during her time in WWE.
