Brandon Marshall compared Peyton Manning to this NBA legend, and he couldn't be more right

Can Manning end his year on a high note?

As Peyton Manning prepares for what could be his last AFC Championship game, the quarterback is surely savoring every moment leading into the contest.

For wide receiver Brandon Marshall, his rooting interest lies with the Denver Broncos and Manning. But the star New York Jet spoke the truth when it came to the former University of Tennessee quarterback on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," Wednesday night, per ESPN.

"It kind of reminds me of watching Kobe Bryant, right?" Marshall said of Manning, who has struggled through various physical ailments in what could be his final season. "These last couple of years you've seen the guy really hit a wall. These are legends, living legends, and all of a sudden, they can't do it anymore physically.

"But I am a huge Peyton Manning fan. I am a fan of the redemption story, so hopefully he goes out there and wins and makes it to a Super Bowl."

You saw it last week, and you'l likely see it today — Manning just doesn't have the zip or arm he used to have. But he's getting it done one way or another.

Manning will have a shot at redemption when his Broncos face off against the New England Patriots at 3:05 p.m. ET Sunday.
