Derek Carr backtracks after pissing off “true” Raiders fans

The stinging comments didn't sit well.

The Oakland Raiders are moving to Las Vegas in a few years, and Raiders fans understandably aren't pleased about the move.

Quarterback Derek Carr angered some of those fans even further with these comments on Monday:

"We're not gonna split up like you've seen other cities do," Carr said at his press conference. "For the ones that do, I don't believe they are true Raider fans."

Those remarks from Carr didn't sit well with some Oakland fans.

Carr attempted to clarify his comments after receiving backlash from fans.

The Raiders will be in Oakland for the next few seasons, so it will be intriguing to see whether Oakland fans remain loyal during the team's last few years in the city.

Carr's backtracking comments probably didn't help much, but at least he understood that he misspoke when calling out "true" Raider fans.
