According to Outkick the Coverage, via a tipster, Memphis' offensive coordinator Chip Long left a voicemail intended for Hurd on a fellow University of Tennessee student's phone.
Long and the Tigers football staff have reportedly denied the audio is real, but Outkick notes the similarities between the voice on the recording and offensive coordinators.
The audio claims for Memphis to completely shift their offensive philosophy to an I-form attack, while also tossing a bit of shade at Tennessee head coach Butch Jones.
