It looks like originally being spurned in the No. 2 recruit’s Top 10 list may help this school more than it hurt it.
Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman (6-foot-6, 290 pounds, Fairfield, OH) released his Top 10 schools back in December, which included the following: Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan State, Notre Dame, USC and Wisconsin.
One noticeable team missing on that list? Florida State. Luckily for the Seminoles, though, they are rapidly rising up the ranks after giving an offer to Carman in January.
“I would say Florida State has risen up in my ranks,” Carman said. “It was an offer that came after (the top 10 was released). They had thought they offered me before, but I guess they didn’t express it to me.”
Well, it looks like a reminder that they hadn’t offered Carman is doing wonders for Florida State, and if the five-star says that the Noles are rising up on his list? That can only be good news for Jimbo Fisher going forward.
Carman said in his interview with Rivals that he doesn’t expect to make a decision until after his senior season is over.
Florida State pulled in a Top 10 recruiting class for the 2017 cycle, and they’ve already started out on a good note with the 2018 class with six commits so far. Included in those commits is five-star running back James Cook, the younger brother of Florida State star Dalvin.
