Alabama is loaded at running back entering 2017 and beyond, and reserve Derrick Gore opted to transfer to seek more playing time.
Gore announced via Twitter and Instagram he is transferring to Louisiana-Monroe.
Gore will have to sit out the 2017 season, and he has two years of eligibility remaining. Gore carried the ball 24 times for 108 yards and a touchdown in two seasons with the Tide. Alabama has Bo Scarbrough, Damien Harris and Joshua Jacobs returning next season, and they will also add five-star running back Najee Harris.
