Jim Harbaugh officially speaks out on L.A. Rams rumors

This was bound to happen.

It appears that Jim Harbaugh is not impressed with the rumors that he's heading back to the NFL.

The Los Angeles Rams fired head coach Jeff Fisher on Monday, and some immediate speculation was that the Rams might make a hard push to get Harbaugh to make the leap from college football back to the NFL. The rumors gained enough steam that Harbaugh himself felt the need to come out and squash them.

"I'm not leaving Michigan," Harbaugh told the Detroit Free Press on Tuesday. "Not even considering it. A lot of this talk is coming from our enemies, from coaches, you know the names."

Harbaugh, a former Michigan quarterback, as had a lot of success in two seasons at his alma mater. Harbaugh is 20-5 combined in those two seasons, and Michigan finished with the No. 6 ranking in the College Football Playoffs this year. With another Top 10 recruiting class incoming, it doesn't look like Michigan is going to be gone from the top of the rankings any time soon.

"We know them as jive turkeys," Harbaugh said on those leaking the rumors. "Say it like it is. that's the way it is."

Harbaugh took the Michigan job in 2015 after parting ways with the San Francisco 49ers organization after an 8-8 season. He took the Niners to three NFC championship games and one Super Bowl during his four-year tenure as a head coach there.
