One school picked up two needed four-star recruits on Wednesday

This puts them in the Top 20 of recruiting rankings.

This is definitely the right time to start peaking in recruiting, and it looks like at least one SEC school is doing that.

The JUCO signing period was at its highest on Wednesday, and four-star defensive end Chauncey Rivers (6-foot-2, 258 pounds, Stone Mountain, Ga.) and four-star safety Johnathan Abram (6-foot-0, 200 pounds, Columbia, Ms.) were a part of that by making commitments to Dan Mullen and Mississippi State.

The commits were very needed for Mississippi State, as they have the unenviable task of keeping up with the rest of the SEC in recruiting. After the commits, Mississippi State does move up to 19th overall in 247Sports recruiting rankings; that sounds good — and it is — but they still rank eighth overall in the SEC.

Mississippi State now has 13 commits and nine early signees for the 2017 recruiting class.
