LSU finally makes important coaching decision official, and totally screws over Texas

A clutch hire for the Tigers.

LSU has been trying to fill out its staff since making Ed Orgeron its permanent head coach and it looks like one important slot has been filled. The Tigers will keep Dave Aranda on as the defensive coordinator according to 247Sports.

Texas was heavily rumored to be going after Aranda to pair up with Tom Herman in Austin. The two are good friends as they were roommates in college. Aranda going to Texas was supposed to be a no-brainer deal for the two, but LSU's deal of $1.2 million and the title of associate head coach was too good to pass up.

LSU is also reportedly going hard after Lane Kiffin to keep him as an offensive coordinator, which would be huge as the offensive was easily the weakness of the team all season. Aranda had the Tigers playing phenomenal defense though only allowing 16.4 points per game, which was good for 6th in the country.
