It’s been reported on several occasions that LSU athletic director Joe Alleva absolutely loves Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher when it comes to finding the new coach for his football team. Geaux247 is reporting that school officials are optimistic about luring Fisher to LSU where his career really took off.
He was an assistant coach under Nick Saban and Les Miles coaching quarterbacks and eventually coordinating the offense. In order for LSU to get Fisher they would like have to match his $44 million over five years and pay for his $5 million buyout from the Seminoles. The Tigers dropped to 6-4 with the loss to Florida this weekend and that likely sealed the fate of interim coach Ed Orgeron.
LSU closes the regular season against Texas A&M on Saturday.
