One of the SEC's most hated referees has retired and fans are excited

It was announced today that two SEC football referees are retiring prior to the 2015 season. Penn Wagers and Matt Moore have both retired from their positions, and this will make SEC fans very happy — particularly with regards to Wagers.

UPDATE: Wagers may not be retiring as there is a report from a Charleston radio host that he is just leaving the SEC to go to the ACC.

Wagers has long been one of the league's most hated officials by fans of nearly every school. The reaction from fans on Twitter to the departure of Wagers was one of celebration after he's been part of some extremely controversial decisions in his time as a referee — including this personal foul levied to Georgia's Mark Richt.
