Plaxico Burress blasts former college coach Nick Saban on Twitter

Plaxico Burress and Nick Saban aren't exactly linked in the minds of the casual college football fan. It has been a long time since Burress and Saban teamed up in East Lansing as part of the program at Michigan State, but Burress has some interesting memories of Saban's eventual departure for LSU.

On Wednesday, Saban took to the microphone at SEC Media Days and stated that he wanted the NFL Draft to evaluate underclassmen after the bowl season was complete in order to avoid negative impact in practice and bowl games.

This didn't sit kindly with Burress, who unleashed a flurry of tweets in Saban's direction, taking the angle that Saban's statements on Thursday did not align with his personal movements from more than a decade ago.

After the comments from Burress made waves in the world of social media, he came back for more and solicited other former Michigan State athletes.

Finally, he took a parting shot at Saban and dropped the mic.

Strong accusations sometimes find a home on Twitter, but they are especially noteworthy coming from a well-known NFL player when referring to perhaps the best coach in college football.
