Rebuilding Cowboys starting to "scare" other NFL execs

The Cowboys aren't a laughingstock anymore.

With Stephen Jones, not Jerry, at the helm, the Dallas Cowboys are turning heads across the NFL, according to Bleacher Report.

"The Cowboys are starting to scare me," said an NFC general manager.

"You could always count on Jerry Jones f—king things up. That isn't happening any longer. That's a Super Bowl-caliber team now."

And mess it up Jerry Jones has nearly done in recent drafts. Aside from being overruled by his son into not drafting Johnny Manziel and instead taking Pro Bowler Zack Martin, the elder Jones had to be talked out of trading up for quarterback Paxton Lynch, instead taking an utter steal with Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith.

Another AFC exec noted the Cowboys are an 11-win team if Tony Romo can stay healthy. After missing a chunk of last season due to injury, Romo should have more room to work with an improved running game and a healthy Dez Bryant.

With what is turning out to be a brilliant football mind on the staff, how far the Cowboys go could be directly related with how often Stephen Jones gets his way.
