There are plenty of people calling for the firing of Texas head coach Charlie Strong. However, his own team hasn’t given up on him just yet and there’s one guy in particular who’s determined to save the man’s job. Running back D’Onta Foreman is doing everything in his power to save Strong’s job because he actually likes his coach and he said as much to FOX Sports.
“I’ve tried to block out all that talk but every time you turn the TV on, it seems like they’re talking about whether Coach Strong is gonna keep his job or not, but we love him and we want to do everything we can to try and make sure they keep him here.”
Foreman put on a legendary performance to help stave off the Strong haters and Texas Tech as the Longhorns won 45-37 behind Foreman’s 341 rushing yards. It was his 10th consecutive game with 100 yards or more of rushing and now he’s one game away from tying Earl Campbell’s record of 11 straight games.
The Longhorns are 5-4 now and have a winnable game at Kansas left in the season to become bowl eligible. They also host West Virginia next week and end the season hosting TCU.
