Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protests have drawn the ire of some fans across the league, especially in Buffalo, where Bills fans put together incredibly controversial shirts.
Just before the game got underway, while Kaepernick did his normal kneel, a cop made sure to stand directly behind the quarterback to make his presence known:
Cameras have been on Kaepernick on a weekly basis when the national anthem is played, and it appears this officer wanted to make his presence felt.
There has been plenty of controversy surrounding the national anthem protests, started by Kaepernick to take a stand against the oppression of “black people and people of color.”
The movement has shifted throughout the sports world, with some high school athletes laying on their backs with hands up and college athletes receiving alleged death threats. The latest lashing out against people protesting the national anthem ended up with fans booing the home team ECU band.
