No, this is not a repeat from six months ago.

The Illinois athletic department made the decision on Saturday to fire head football coach Bill Cubit.
Cubit had taken over for Tim Beckman when the school made the decision to fire him in August, right before the start of the season. Illinois thought that Cubit performed well enough in the interim to give him a 2-year, $2.4 million deal at the end of November. The Fighting Illini were 5-7 in 2015.
The timing of this firing is particularly odd, because... actually no, it's not odd. It's dumb. Why are you firing your head coach in March? Just a few months after giving him a contract? Based on the news released from Illinois, it does not appear that Cubit was in trouble for any wrong-doing, making this decision even more of a head-scratcher.
Good luck finding a new coach now, Illinois. I'm sure people will be lining up — in MARCH! — for the job that has fired two head coaches in six months.
