The verdict is in on the Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker trial

Huge news for Hulk Hogan.

A Florida jury has ruled in favor of Hulk Hogan in his lawsuit against the website Gawker, all stemming from a sex tape of Hogan that Gawker posted in 2012. The verdict is set to award Hogan a sum of $115 million from economic loss and emotional distress.

The sex tape at the middle of the case showed Hogan — real name Terry Bollea — having sex with the wife of a radio DJ known as Bubba the Love Sponge. The video was allegedly recorded in secret without Hogan's knowledge, which is what led to the lawsauit after Gawker posted it online.

We will have to wait and see if the $115 million holds up, as Gawker will surely appeal this verdict. Even if Gawker is able to get the sum reduced, Hogan will still likely see a big chunk of money from this lawsuit, enough to where he can stop campaign WWE and secondary wrestling promotion Impact Wrestling for matches that the 62 year old surely cannot handle at this point in his life.
