Michigan's defense over the past two seasons has been one of the best in college football, and that became extremely evident last year under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Michigan finished sixth in scoring defense in 2015, a season that included the Wolverines shutting out three straight opponents in BYU, Maryland, and Northwestern.
That being the case, it is only natural that Michigan's spring game ended on a defensive player rather than an offensive one.
With eight seconds left, Team Blue found themselves on the goal line with a chance to take the lead and win the annual spring game. A handoff to fullback Henry Poggi was called as the final play, but Team Maize was able to stuff him at the goal line to win the game 14-13.
Looks like that defensive reputation is only going to grow in 2016.
