John Gant, pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, made the opening day roster after spending some time in the minors with the Mets and Braves farm teams.
Obviously, those leagues aren't covered as much as the majors so while people were focusing on his talent and potential, his odd delivery flew under the radar.
How it did, I'm not sure because not only is it funky, it's borderline illegal. Because he does the same motion every time, as explained in the video, it's not a balk. If I were at bat though, I'd be pretty miffed at this guy's "routine."
