The Phoenix Suns are in need of a coach for next season after firing Jeff Hornacek in February. The Suns are young and have the talent to be a good team even in the tough Western Conference. They'll have another lottery pick added to the roster this year and so they'll need a coach who can get all of this talent to play well together.
It looks like the Suns have an impressive list of potential candidates according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Names like Luke Walton, Mike D'Antoni and even Steve Nash have come up in the search for a potential new coach. The Suns have also said that they would be open to keeping interim head coach Earl Watson. The Arizona Republic first reported in Friday's editions that Watson is "very much in the running for the position."
Phoenix is considered a long shot to bring in Walton because he loves working with the Warriors and it would likely take too much money to make him reconsider. D'Antoni obviously has a connection with the team having been the mastermind behind the "Run 'N' Gun" teams from the mid-2000s so he definitely shouldn't be ruled out.
