Tennessee fans may not have had a lot of fun watching the NFL Draft considering none of their favorite players had their names called. The NFL Network took notice and even made fun of the Vols because the country of Germany had more draft picks than them.

That was a harsh joke, but that wasn't even the end of it.
Baylor's basketball team had more NFL draft picks than Tennessee.

Mandel is referencing Rico Gathers who was a 6'8" forward on the basketball team. However, this rough two-year patch isn't meant to last and it certainly doesn't mean the Vols are actually bad. This could mean the team will actually be pretty darn good in 2016.
Tennessee's the only SEC team without a draft pick, but more a reflection of Vols' returning talent. Only had a few fringe prospects

Tennessee will surely have a few guys get their names called in 2017 and some people are predicting it may be as many as three with running backs Alvin Kamara and Jalen Hurd possibilities as first round picks if they improve even more than they did last season. Defensive end Derek Barnett would also be a great option for teams with defensive line needs so Vols fans should expect this drought to end in 2017.
