Denver Broncos general manager John Elway was obviously pretty confident in his research and scouts when he took Paxton Lynch because he moved up in the first round to grab him. He likes what Lynch can do on the field and took him knowing that he would be a bit of a project. No one knows exactly how much of a project he might be, but Elway is convinced it won't be a big one.

Elway said on Denver Sports 760 that Lynch may just prove himself ready to be an NFL starter this year.
"Is that going to happen tomorrow? Probably not, but you never know when it can happen," Elway said. "We think he's going to be ready quicker than a lot of people think."
The Broncos weren't the only ones going after Lynch either. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was upset that he didn't get Lynch and actually wishes he had overpaid for him to make him a Cowboy.

Elway listed all the things he likes the best about Lynch and how that could help him earn a starting job sooner than people think.
"He's a young guy with tremendous athletic ability, he's got the strong arm, can make all the throws, he's smart, and he's a guy that can fit into this offense real well," Elway said.
If Mark Sanchez struggles this year, don't be surprised to see Lynch get a start or at least come into the game in relief of him. The Memphis product could become the next big time quarterback and may just need an Aaron Rodgers-like adjustment period to get himself ready for prime time.
