This movie has been 20 years in the making and now we will finally get the long-awaited sequel to Independence Day with 20th Century Fox's Independence Day: Resurgence. Jeff Goldblum is back as scientist David Levinson with Bill Pullman rehashing his role as former President Whitmore.

The newest trailer is a whopping five minutes and shows the true scale of the next invasion and how earth basically stands no chance to survive. We've had 20 years to prepare for a retaliatory attack, but it looks like the aliens spent their two decades a little better than us puny humans did.

Let's hope we fare as well as did last time when there was no hope of survival. The movie is due out in theaters June 24th.
