Believe it or not, Baylor football actually got some good news this week

Fantastic news, really!

The Baylor football team has been under a lot of scrutiny over the past few months, and it is for a damn good reason: the things alleged against them — covering up assault cases — does not reflect well on them at all.

Between players trying to leave the school, the coaching staff being fired, and recruits decommitting, it's been a lot of bad news for the Bears. However, they actually got some good news on Thursday, as quarterback Seth Russell hinted that he has been fully clear after recovery from a neck injury suffered in the 2015 season.

Russell was a legitimate Heisman candidate in 2015, throwing for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns in seven games before the injury derailed his — and Baylor's — season.

With all the hubbub and departures from Baylor this offseason, it is unlikely that Russell will be in that same position in 2016. However, Russell is a good player that doesn't appear to be a part of all the wrong-doing that the school is currently accused of. Because of that, it is good to see a good player get back onto the field.
