The Chicago Bulls were kind of a mess last season at point guard as Derrick Rose played in only 66 games —- still five more games than the previous two years combined —- and Aaron Brooks ended up getting a lot more minutes than he probably anticipated. Now with Derrick Rose gone to New York in a massive trade, the Bulls desperately need a good starting point guard and may have just gotten one in free agency.

According to Marc Spears of The Undefeated, the Bulls signed the league leader in assists per game from this past season.
While many people —- mostly Bulls fans —- are probably groaning about this deal, it's actually quite a steal for the Bulls. $14 million a year isn't all that bad in today's market. Chris Paul, Damian Lillard and Derrick Rose all make $20 million or per year and none of those guys led the league in assists while playing for a bad team like the Sacramento Kings.

So while Rondo might be a headcase to some, he's still a guy that can help you win games and would surely play well with some of the guys Chicago already has like Doug McDermott, Jimmy Butler, Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic.
