Four-star safety Brelin Faison-Walden (6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Greensboro, NC) made a bit of a surprise with his commitment on Wednesday, when he announced that he plans to attend Penn State. The recruit made the decision after taking a visit to Penn State less than a week ago.

Faison-Walden also had offers from Alabama, Florida State, and Clemson, among others. He is rated four-stars by Rivals.com, but only as a three-star by 247Sports. Regardless of star-rating, it is clear from the teams that he has offers from that he is a valued recruit.

The safety becomes Penn State's ninth commitment of the 2017 class. Though there is only nine commits, there is some quality with multiple four-star commitments.
