Trevon Grimes is one of the top wide receivers, if not players, in the entire 2017 recruiting class. The five-star wideout from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. has been a hot commodity on the recruiting trail for some time, and while he already broke the news that his college announcement would arrive on Aug. 24, Grimes has already made a silent commitment, according to Luke Stampini of 247Sports:

"Yeah," Grimes answered. "They were excited. They were happy for me, just like any other coach would be. The only people that know are my coaches and my family, but everyone will know August 24, so I'm looking forward to it."
247Sports rates Grimes as the No. 15 overall player in the 2017 class, with only two wide receivers in the country landing ahead of him. While Florida, Florida State and Alabama are all rumored to be in the mix for his services, the "favorite" has been Ohio State for some time, and Grimes was also asked about his feelings toward the Buckeyes:
"I like to feel loved where I'm going, because at the end of the day I'm going to be there for the next three to four years. It's just the place I feel most comfortable at right now and I like the love they show me and the coaches are phenomenal. I definitely think that's one of the reasons they've been my leader since freshman year."
Urban Meyer's 2017 class is, once again, loaded with talent, but Grimes would be one of the better prospects to commit to Ohio State for next season. The 6-foot-3, 202-pound wide receiver would certainly look good in scarlet and gray, and Buckeyes fans are undoubtedly getting excited in advance of the announcement later this week.
Trevon Grimes isn't an Ohio State commit just yet, but he might be.
