The government has strict laws against postal service workers stealing mail, which one former All-SEC lineman is finding out.

AL.com reports Terrill Chatman, who played for Alabama in the late 1980's, was indicted earlier this week by a grand jury for stealing gift cards from the mail. The indictment states that Chatman stole a $50 Publix gift card and a $10 Walmart gift card as a USPS employee late last year.
His small theft could cost him much more. The maximum penalty for mail theft is five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Chatman made the all-conference team in 1989 when Alabama went 10-2.
