After Saturday's 19-13 loss to No. 2 Clemson, linebacker T.J. Neal went off on Twitter over his lack of playing time in the game. Neal — a transfer from Illinois — was only on the field for two snaps, and his vented his frustrations after the game.
Via AL.com:
Neal was listed as a starter on the depth chart, and he was Illinois's leading tackler (109 total, 14.0 TFL) last season. Going from that to only two snaps clearly has to be frustrating, but this is not the best way to handle that frustration.

According to Gus Malzahn, Neal's absence wasn't health related, and the defense "just with the guys that they felt was ready".
Auburn's defense did well against the high-powered Clemson offense, so it's tough to say that Neal would have made an enormous impact. However, it's rare to go from "co-starter" to two snaps on special teams, so there will definitely be some fallout from this ordeal.
