Preseason All-American safety Derwin James already has an interception this year and looked like he was ready to break out for the season against Charleston Southern. Unfortunately, he went down with what looked like a serious knee injury against the Buccaneers. Here's a look at what might have happened:

Looks pretty obvious it's ankle. Hopefully just rolled it. pic.twitter.com/yJRN0SFsiw

It apparently wasn't his ankle as it was his knee that was looked at in the medical tent:
Derwin James is out of the medical tent and is now taken off the field on a cart. They were looking at his left knee while in the tent. #FSU

Seeing as how the Seminoles are leading 49-6 after three quarters, the team felt no need to try to rush him back onto the field.
FSU just announced that Derwin James will not return to the game (left knee injury) ... If he had returned, fans would have rioted.

This could seriously hurt the FSU secondary and James' chance at an All-American nod. Fortunately, it won't hinder the Noles' chance at a win today, but hopefully the sophomore can recover and come back in time for the Louisville game next week.
