Thibodeaux, who stands at 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, is the nation's top recruit for the Class of 2019 (according to 247Sports) and the young defensive lineman looks to be a player that will generate all kinds of recruiting buzz in the future. With that in mind, Thibodeaux recently spoke with Scout.com about his recruitment to this point, and he had glowing things to say about receiving an offer from Jim Harbaugh and Michigan:
"I found out through my coach at the end of practice. I honestly was shocked because I haven't heard any news about Michigan looking at me before and I have a lot of respect for Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. I was flabbergasted. I am honored and I am truly blessed because that means that my hard work and dedication I have put in is finally paying off and people are starting to watch me."
Later in the interview, Thibodeaux also referred to Harbaugh as a "legend" and that certainly plays into the thinking that Michigan could be an early leader to land the youngster. While the 2019 class is a few years away, Thibodeaux is considered to be an impact player of the highest order, and with Harbaugh's national recruiting focus, poaching him from southern California wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
It's never too early when you're talking about elite recruits and Kayvon Thibodeaux fits the bill.
